What Is Thread Lifting?

Thread lifting is a term that encompasses various techniques, much like laser treatments, radiofrequency (RF), and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). For instance, Aptos, Silhouette, and Mint thread lifting refer explicitly to their unique methods developed for this procedure. It is essential to understand that while thread lifting offers lifting effects, it is not a substitute for a surgical facelift, nor should it be solely categorised as a non-surgical facelift. Instead, it should be regarded as a bioregenerative treatment that involves the manual lifting and repositioning of both skin and soft tissues for rejuvenation.

Thread lifting is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses absorbable threads to lift and tighten the skin. It provides a subtle lifting effect by physically repositioning the skin and stimulating the body’s natural response to produce collagen, improving skin firmness and elasticity.

The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, and the threads are inserted into the skin using a fine needle. Once in place, the threads act as a scaffold, helping to lift sagging skin on areas such as the face, neck, and jowls. Over time, the threads dissolve naturally, leaving behind a framework of newly formed collagen that continues to support the skin.

One key advantage of thread lifting is its minimal downtime. Most patients can return to their normal activities within a few days, and the results can last up to 18 months, depending on the type of threads used and the individual's skin condition.

It is also important to note that thread lifting suits various genders, skin types and ages. However, as with any cosmetic treatment, it is crucial to have a detailed consultation with a qualified professional to determine the best approach for your individual needs and goals.
